I did not get any sparks when I walked around Venice. It’s popular canals and buildings has failed to get my trophy of most beautiful place I’ve been to. I don’t get why a lot of people seems convincing when they describe Venice. ‘You’ll love it!’ They always say. Well, maybe I would love it more if it was not as crowded as this.
Runaway from the overcrowded mainland of Venice, I got myself hop on to a ferry route to Burano Island. ItĀ is a traditional fisherman village that known for their bright colour houses. LocatedĀ just 6,5 Euro away with a ferry that can caught from San Zaccaria stop (near St. Mark), ask around : vaporetto line no.12 to Burano.
I could sense my heart sings soon I jumped off to this island. The fun bright color of the houses somehow contagious. The reason they painted their home with bright colour is to make their house visible from the sea. Since they often got thick fog around the island, the bright colour helps to identify where their home is. Burano is a small island, you will find yourself walking on the same street over and over again.
My tip : Save your battery well, you’re phone gonna need lots of it to capture every single house in Burano.
